History of the orchestra
The Youth Brass Band of the Bohaterów Westerplatte Inland Navigation School Complex was founded in 1974 and from the very beginning has gained popularity among the inhabitants of the town and its surroundings. The instrumentalists were and still are based on the school's youth, and the workshop was created in the classrooms as part of extracurricular activities. With time a music office with a rehearsal room and a recording studio was created. During a year the orchestra performs about 60-70 times in Poland and abroad. It participates in various occasional, cultural, sport and state ceremonies. Everybody who plays or wants to learn to play a wind or percussion instrument can join the orchestra.
